A 29-year-old man was arrested in Gurugram for allegedly throwing crude bombs near a club in Sector 29 market on Tuesday morning. The attack, which is believed to be connected to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, resulted in no casualties, though minor damage occurred.

The arrested individual, identified as Sachin, hails from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Authorities suspect his involvement with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has been linked to various criminal activities in the region.

According to Varun Dahiya, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime), the accused was under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident. “By the time we arrived, he had already hurled a couple of bombs, causing explosions that damaged a signboard and a parked scooter. The officers on routine duty detained him before he could throw any more bombs,” Dahiya explained.

In addition to the crude bombs, police recovered a country-made weapon from the suspect. The attack is suspected to be part of the Bishnoi gang’s ongoing extortion threats targeting local clubs.

The gang, notorious for its violent tactics, previously claimed responsibility for the murder of Baba Siddique of the Nationalist Congress Party in October and the shooting incident outside actor Salman Khan’s residence in April.

Authorities have inspected the scene and coordinated with a bomb disposal team to neutralize the explosives. A formal case has yet to be filed against the accused, and further details are expected as the investigation continues.
