Bihar Congress Stages Protest Over Adani Controversy and Manipur Violence

Party demands action against Gautam Adani and seeks justice for victims of Manipur ethnic clashes

Breaking News

PATNA: The Congress party in Bihar intensified its political campaign on Wednesday with a massive “Raj Bhavan March” to demand accountability against business tycoon Gautam Adani over financial irregularities alleged by U.S. prosecutors.

Led by former Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) president Kaukab Qadri, Congress workers highlighted concerns regarding the economic actions of Adani’s business ventures and called for swift legal action. In addition to financial accountability, the protest also raised concerns about the recent spate of ethnic violence in Manipur, urging the central government to address the humanitarian crisis effectively.

The march began at Sadaqat Ashram, the BPCC headquarters, with protesters chanting slogans demanding transparency and justice. Police intervened to halt the march about a kilometer from Raj Bhavan, underscoring the tense political climate in the state.

The protest reflects growing unrest in Bihar over both corruption and governance-related issues, with Congress aiming to use these issues to strengthen their political foothold ahead of upcoming elections.

The protesters are pressing for an equitable resolution to the concerns of Manipur’s violence victims while targeting Gautam Adani’s business dealings, which have been under scrutiny globally.
