On Monday, Dharma Productions shared a memorable still from the 2013 romantic comedy-drama, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. The post was accompanied by the caption, “Humein inse pyaar ho jaayega…phir se! #StayTuned.” This sparked immediate fan reactions, with many wondering if the studio was hinting at a sequel or possibly a re-release of the film.
Comments on the post ranged from enthusiastic questions like, “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani 2.0?” to speculation about a re-release: “Is it YJHD 2 or Re-release?” Some fans expressed their excitement, writing, “very excited for the sequel, but please don’t spoil it,” while others eagerly hoped for a sequel, using crossed fingers and crying emojis. Although the buzz is palpable, it’s also possible that the post could be hinting at a re-release, as older films like Kal Ho Naa Ho and Tumbbad have seen successful theatrical runs this year.

In a previous interview, Ranbir Kapoor had hinted at the possibility of a sequel. He shared, “I think Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani would make a good sequel. Ayan also had a very nice story, I remember, but then he went into the Brahmastra journey. But, never say never. He might make it after a couple of years. I think the story will be 10 years forward, exploring where Bunny, Naina, Avi, and Aditi are in their lives.”
