In a fresh update regarding the much-anticipated film King, it has been revealed that Siddharth Anand will be directing the Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan starrer, instead of Sujoy Ghosh, as initially speculated. According to a report from Pinkvilla, Ghosh has contributed to the film’s script, co-writing it with Anand, Suresh Nair, and Sagar Pandya. However, Anand, renowned for his successful directorial ventures like Pathaan, will helm the project.
Preparations for the film have been underway for six months, with extensive international location scouting and the design of groundbreaking action sequences, involving top stunt directors. King is set to begin filming in March 2025, with a global release planned for 2026. The film’s schedule is expected to span 6 to 7 months, with a scale on par with Pathaan, ensuring an action-packed experience for audiences.
In addition to Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan, King will feature Abhishek Bachchan in a significant role. Discussions are also ongoing with an A-list actress for another key role, with an official announcement expected soon. The film is being produced by Red Chillies Entertainment in collaboration with Marflix, with Abbas Tyrewala onboard as the dialogue writer.
