ROURKELA, ODISHA – A tragic accident claimed the life of a three-year-old boy in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Tuesday, after he was hit by a speeding truck. The incident occurred on National Highway 143, passing through Biramitrapur town.
According to police reports, the boy was traveling with his family on a scooter when the accident took place. A speeding motorcycle, coming from the opposite direction, collided with their scooter. The force of the crash threw the toddler into the path of an oncoming truck that was traveling on the same road. Tragically, the truck hit the child before the driver could react.
The truck driver, realizing the incident, fled the scene immediately without offering any help or stopping to report the accident. Police have launched a manhunt for the driver, who is now facing charges of reckless driving and causing death by negligence.
