Alappuzha (Kerala): In a tragic incident, an 81-year-old woman lost her life after being attacked by a stray dog in Alappuzha, a coastal district in Kerala. The victim, identified as Karthyayani, was residing with her son in the Valiazheekal area under the Thrikkunnapuzha police jurisdiction when the attack occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the police, the incident took place at around 4 PM, when Karthyayani was attacked by a stray dog near her son’s residence. She sustained severe injuries to her face and other parts of her body as the dog mauled her. Despite the immediate response and efforts to help, the woman succumbed to her injuries.
Karthyayani was originally from Thakazhi, near Ambalappuzha in the district, and was visiting her son’s home when the tragic event occurred. Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, with police officials expressing concern about the growing number of stray dogs in the area.
