Palghar: A court in Maharashtra’s Palghar district has sentenced a 45-year-old man to life imprisonment for the rape of a 40-year-old mentally challenged woman in 2021. The verdict was delivered by Additional Sessions Judge AV Choudhari-Inamdar on Tuesday, who confirmed that the prosecution had successfully proven all charges against the accused, Dashrath Maruti Sutar.
Sutar, a resident of Kev in the Vikramgad area of Palghar district, was found guilty of committing the heinous crime against the woman, who was unable to defend herself due to her mental disability.
