A tragic incident occurred off Calangute Beach in North Goa on Wednesday, when a tourist boat capsized, leaving one person dead and nearly 20 others injured. The authorities responded swiftly, with lifeguards rescuing several people from the water.
According to Lifeguard in-charge Sanjay Yadav, 13 individuals were rescued from the scene of the accident. However, around six members of one family were trapped under the overturned boat, and their condition was reported as critical. Among them, one person succumbed to injuries, while the others were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The exact cause of the incident remains unclear, and authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the boat’s capsizing. While the precise number of people on board is not known, it is estimated that around 20 individuals were involved in the incident.
