AHMEDABAD: The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) of Ahmedabad has issued a directive to Coldplay and event organizers, prohibiting the inclusion of children on stage during their upcoming concerts at the Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25 and 26, 2025. This action follows concerns about potential health risks posed to children by high-decibel sound levels and intense lighting typical of such events.
In addition to the on-stage restrictions, the DCPU mandates that all child attendees must be equipped with appropriate hearing protection, such as earplugs, to mitigate the dangers associated with sound levels that can exceed 120 decibels during live performances. Organizers are instructed to enforce this requirement strictly, ensuring no child enters the venue without adequate ear protection.
Non-compliance with these directives may result in stringent actions from the DCPU. This intervention underscores the importance of safeguarding children’s health and well-being during large-scale entertainment events.
Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres’ World Tour has generated significant excitement among Indian fans, with the Ahmedabad concerts being a highlight. Tickets are available for purchase through authorized platforms, with specific age-related guidelines in place. Children aged five and above are permitted to attend, provided they are accompanied by a ticket-holding adult aged 18 or older.
