Vishal Sikka, former CEO of Infosys, recently met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a comprehensive discussion on artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential impact on India. The meeting, which took place on Saturday, delved into several key aspects of AI, its implications for the country, and the steps necessary for India’s future in this rapidly evolving field.

Sikka took to social media to share his thoughts, stating, “It was a privilege to meet the Hon. Prime Minister for a detailed and wide-ranging discussion on AI, its impact on India, and several imperatives for the time ahead. I left the meeting both inspired and humbled by his extraordinary grasp of technology’s impact on all of us and how its use with democratic values can uplift everyone.”

About Vishal Sikka: Sikka, who holds a Ph.D. in AI from Stanford University, has had a distinguished career in technology. Before his tenure at Infosys, he worked at major companies such as SAP and helped in the development of several innovative technologies. In 2014, he became the first non-founder CEO of Infosys, leading the company through a transformation focused on automation, cloud computing, and AI.

During his leadership at Infosys, Sikka initiated the development of the AI platform NIA (Next-Generation Integrated Artificial Intelligence), which automated repetitive tasks and reduced costs for clients. He also launched Infosys Mana, an AI-powered knowledge platform designed to drive innovation.

Sikka resigned from his role in 2017 following disagreements over corporate governance with the company’s founders, but his contributions to the tech industry remain significant.
