A Teenager Confesses To Mother’s Murder After Plotting With Friends In Bengaluru
A teenager has shocked Bengaluru after confessing to her own mother’s murder, carried out with the help of four of her friends. What first appeared to be a case of suicide has now been uncovered as a carefully planned crime led by a 17-year-old girl and her group of juvenile friends. The horrifying incident took place in the Uttarahalli area of south Bengaluru, leaving residents and police stunned.

The victim, identified as 34-year-old Netravathi, lived with her daughter after separating from her husband. She worked as a telecaller at a loan recovery firm. According to police reports, the teenage girl was a Class 9 dropout and had been in a relationship with a 17-year-old boy, also a dropout. The girl’s mother strongly opposed the relationship, which led to repeated arguments between them.
On October 25, the girl and her friends allegedly carried out their plan to kill her mother. Investigations revealed that the group of minors had discussed the plan at a mall the previous day. Driven by anger and rebellion, they decided to take the woman’s life after she scolded them and complained to the police about their frequent visits.
A Teenager Planned The Crime Inside Her Own Home At Night
On the night of the incident, the four boys, including the girl’s boyfriend and a 13-year-old cousin of one of the accused, went to Netravathi’s house. Using a spare key, the teenager opened the door around 11 pm. They woke Netravathi and asked her to make coffee, but when she scolded them and threatened to inform the police again, things turned violent.
Police reports state that the boys overpowered Netravathi, who was under the influence of alcohol, and strangled her with a towel. After killing her, they hanged her body from the ceiling fan using a sari to make it appear as suicide. The girl then locked the door and escaped with her friends.
The next day, Netravathi’s partner visited the house but assumed she was not home. The truth was discovered only two days later when her sister Anitha called him, and the two peeped through the window to find Netravathi’s body hanging. Believing it to be a suicide, the family initially filed a kidnapping case as the girl was missing.
However, the entire plot came to light when the teenager went to her grandmother’s house and behaved strangely. Her family members noticed inconsistencies in her story and alerted the police. After questioning, the girl broke down and confessed that she and her friends had murdered her mother and tried to stage it as a suicide.
A Teenager’s Love Story Turns Into A Shocking Crime In Bengaluru
Police revealed that the teenager and her boyfriend’s strained relationship with Netravathi had been the main reason behind the murder. The mother had repeatedly warned the group of boys to stay away from her daughter. She was also planning to move out of the city to Chikkaballapur with her partner’s help, which angered the girl further.

According to DCP Anitha B Haddannavar, all five accused are minors between the ages of 13 and 17, except for the youngest boy who is currently absconding. The others have been apprehended and placed in correctional homes while the investigation continues. The case has been registered under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police also stated that the girl’s boyfriend and his friends were all school dropouts who spent most of their time loitering near malls and parks. They developed a close friendship with the girl and influenced her decisions. What began as teenage rebellion and frustration turned into a brutal and irreversible crime.
A Teenager’s Act Leaves Family And City In Deep Shock
The revelation has left both families in disbelief. Relatives of Netravathi say she had faced several challenges as a single mother but continued to care for her daughter with patience. Her decision to oppose the girl’s relationship stemmed from concern for her safety and future. However, that care was misunderstood, leading to a heartbreaking end.
Police believe the crime could have been prevented if early behavioral changes had been noticed and addressed. Officials have urged parents to be more aware of their children’s emotional struggles, especially during adolescence. The authorities are now tracing the missing 13-year-old boy and have tightened surveillance around juvenile crime in the city. Social workers have also emphasized the growing need for guidance and counseling for school dropouts and teenagers facing social isolation or peer pressure.
Conclusion:
The murder planned and executed by a teenager and her friends in Bengaluru stands as a tragic reminder of how unchecked anger and poor influence can destroy lives. As investigations continue, the case has shaken families, schools, and authorities alike, urging society to reflect on the importance of guidance, communication, and mental awareness among the youth.
