Accenture has come under intense scrutiny on social media following the tragic suicide of a 34-year-old software engineer from Bengaluru. The techie, who left behind a 40-page note alleging mental harassment and extortion by his wife, has sparked widespread outrage after a video he recorded detailing his struggles went viral.
In the video, the techie claimed to be a victim of extortion by his wife and her family, who reportedly demanded 3 crore to resolve legal disputes. His accusations have led many social media users to allege that his wife, who is believed to be an employee at Accenture, played a significant role in his mental distress. As a result, some have demanded that the multinational company take action and fire her. Users circulated screenshots of her LinkedIn profile, claiming she worked as an analyst at the firm, and flooded Accenture’s X account with demands for immediate action.
In response, Accenture set its X account to private as the situation escalated. The company has not yet issued an official statement.
The techie, originally from Uttar Pradesh, had been facing intense emotional and financial pressure. He alleged that his wife had filed more than 40 legal cases against him, accusing him and his family of crimes including dowry harassment and sexual misconduct. Police have filed charges under section 108 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for abetment of suicide against the wife, her mother, brother, and uncle.
The man’s tragic story, shared with the Save Indian Family Foundation, highlighted his constant legal battles, including numerous court notices. His final request was to have a gift he had bought for his young son delivered after his death. Authorities continue to investigate the case, as the techie’s plea for justice resonates with many.
