Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the festive occasion of Dhanteras by extending greetings to the nation and emphasizing the significance of Diwali 2024. In a virtual address, he declared this Diwali “special,” as it will be the first time in 500 years that Lord Ram is celebrated in the newly built Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Modi highlighted the importance of this moment, noting that countless individuals had made sacrifices to see this day realized. Following the Supreme Court’s 2019 verdict paving the way for the temple’s construction, the grand Ram Mandir was inaugurated earlier this year, making this the first Diwali to be observed with Lord Ram enshrined in his temple.
