Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan Proudly Visits Vidisha Parliamentary Constituency: 2025

Union Minister for Agriculture, Farmers’ Welfare, and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, visited his parliamentary constituency of Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh on October 6, 2025. At Bilkisganj agricultural produce market, he addressed farmers and women beneficiaries, distributed welfare benefits under government schemes, inspected exhibitions, and observed a health camp organized by various organizations.

Empowering Farmers and Women

Shri Chouhan emphasized serving the people as a true purpose of life, assuring unwavering commitment to public service. He urged women to undergo full medical check-ups at the health camp, promising free treatment for detected illnesses. Highlighting the ‘Ladli Behna Yojana’ and ‘Lakhpati Didi Abhiyan’ initiatives, he stressed increasing rural women’s income through self-help groups, aiming for annual earnings of at least ₹1 lakh per woman.

 

 

 

Housing and Infrastructure Development

Shri Chouhan informed that Madhya Pradesh has received 19 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin. He assured that no poor person will live in kutcha houses in future and committed to providing electricity even to the remotest areas, stating that electricity supply will be ensured even if only five houses exist in a location. The goal is for every poor family to have a pucca house, electricity, and a dignified life.

Crop Damage Compensation and Farmer Support

Addressing crop losses due to excessive rainfall affecting soybean farmers, Shri Chouhan said a comprehensive survey would be conducted, and farmers will receive compensation under crop insurance schemes. Central and state governments are coordinating to ensure farmers do not suffer losses and all eligible farmers receive timely benefits.

Health Initiatives: TB Eradication

The Minister reiterated his commitment to making Sehore district completely tuberculosis (TB) free. With doctors conducting surveys, free medicines and nutritional support will be provided for complete recovery. About 500 patients, including 90 pregnant women, have been screened so far, and all treatment arrangements are in place. He appealed for public cooperation stating that collective efforts will make Sehore TB-free.
