New Delhi – Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam (ABSS) 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The event served as a dynamic platform to review the progress made in the past five years and set the roadmap for the future of Indian education. The Samagam witnessed participation from education ministers of 13 states and UTs, senior officials, VCs, heads of institutions, and school students.
Tribute and Commencement
The event began with floral tributes to Padma Vibhushan Dr. K. Kasturirangan, the visionary Chairman of the NEP 2020 Drafting Committee. Students of Kendriya Vidyalayas set a cultural tone with a welcome song. Minister of State Shri Jayant Chaudhary read out a special message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the milestone occasion.
Keynote by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan: NEP 2020 as the Blueprint for Viksit Bharat
In his address, Shri Pradhan hailed NEP 2020 as a foundational policy that aligns with India’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. He emphasized how the policy has moved from mere documentation to a widespread implementation, transforming classrooms and campuses across the country.
Calling NEP 2020 a national mission, the Minister reiterated that Indian ethos lies at its core, promoting Indian languages, scientific temperament, innovation, and holistic development. He urged all stakeholders to contribute actively to creating spaces for meaningful learning and creativity.

The Samagam also witnessed the unveiling of over ₹4,000 crore worth of projects, including inaugurations and foundation stone laying ceremonies:
