Hours after being granted bail in the Sandhya Theatre stampede case, Telugu superstar Allu Arjun held a press conference at his residence in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills. The actor expressed his sorrow over the tragic death of a fan during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule, clarifying that he had no connection to the incident, which he called “purely accidental.”

Dressed in a white t-shirt emblazoned with his title ‘Icon Star,’ Arjun spoke candidly about the tragedy. “We are deeply sorry for the family, and I will personally support them in any way I can,” he said. “It was purely an accident, and I was inside the theatre at the time. The incident occurred outside, and I had no direct involvement.” He further stressed that he had visited Sandhya Theatre over 30 times in the past two decades, without any prior incidents, emphasizing that the event was beyond anyone’s control.

The tragic incident occurred on December 4 during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule, when a massive crowd gathered outside Sandhya Theatre to catch a glimpse of the actor, leading to the stampede.

The deceased’s family filed a complaint, naming Allu Arjun as one of the accused, which led to his arrest on Friday. After spending a night in jail, the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail on Saturday morning.

Arjun reiterated that the incident was an unfortunate accident and expressed his condolences, stating that he felt deeply saddened by what had transpired.

“It was truly out of control, and we are deeply sorry for what happened,” he concluded.
