Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leader Arvind Kejriwal, calling the party the “Avaidh Aamdaniwali Party” during a rally in Delhi on Sunday. Shah accused Kejriwal of using false promises and lies to secure votes, claiming that the Delhi Chief Minister’s track record has only resulted in worsening civic conditions in the capital.

“Kejriwal only tells lies to gain votes. AAP stands for ‘Avaidh Aamdaniwali Party,'” Shah said while addressing the gathering in Narela. He further criticized Kejriwal’s government for failing to resolve the pressing issues facing the city, such as poor infrastructure and public services. According to Shah, under Kejriwal’s leadership, Delhi has seen a deterioration in its civic conditions over the past decade.

Shah pointed out several issues plaguing the city, including flooding, dirty water, neglected gardens, and deteriorating schools and hospitals. “Under Kejriwal ji’s rule, Delhi’s condition has worsened. The city faces dirty water, floods, stagnant wells, and neglected gardens. Schools are crumbling, and hospitals lack basic amenities. Does Kejriwal care about you? Does he ensure clean water and reliable services?” he asked the crowd.

Shah predicted that the people of Delhi would vote for change in the upcoming February 5 elections, stating that the national capital would finally be free from what he referred to as the “disaster party” led by Kejriwal. He also highlighted the strength of India’s democracy and the power of the Constitution, marking the 76th Republic Day of India. Shah noted how India’s democratic system had propelled ordinary individuals to the highest offices in the country, such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu.

In contrast, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal responded by criticizing the BJP’s approach to governance. Kejriwal claimed that the BJP gives taxpayers’ money as loans to billionaires, which they later waive off. “On one hand, the BJP model involves giving your money as a loan to billionaire friends and then waiving it off,” he said. On the other hand, there is the AAP model, which focuses on welfare, offering 24-hour electricity, free water, and high-quality healthcare,” Kejriwal argued.

He went on to accuse the BJP of trying to end the benefits currently enjoyed by Delhi residents, stating, “The BJP has made it clear that if they come to power, all the services provided in Delhi will be stopped because they are against their model.”

As the election day approaches, both leaders have intensified their rhetoric, with Shah calling for change in Delhi’s leadership and Kejriwal defending his party’s model of governance and the welfare initiatives it has implemented for the city’s residents. The February 5 elections are expected to be a decisive moment for the political future of Delhi, as both parties continue to battle for the support of the electorate.
