NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to release a new book titled ‘Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh: Through the Ages’ on January 2, 2025, in New Delhi. The event will feature Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as the Guest of Honour, alongside prominent authors, academicians, and officials from the Ministry of Education.
This publication offers an extensive overview of over 3,000 years of history in the Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh regions. Structured into seven sections, it caters to both subject specialists and general readers. The book is available in Hindi and English, featuring carefully selected illustrations that represent significant eras and contributions to India’s historical narrative.
This collaborative effort between the National Book Trust, India, and the Indian Council of Historical Research aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the region’s rich heritage.
The launch event is part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations, commemorating 75 years of India’s independence. It underscores the government’s commitment to highlighting the cultural and historical significance of various regions across the country. The book is expected to serve as a valuable resource for scholars, students, and anyone interested in the historical evolution of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.
