Apple has officially launched its latest iPad Mini in India, powered by the A17 Pro chip, offering enhanced performance and AI capabilities. Starting at ₹49,900 for the Wi-Fi model and ₹64,900 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular version, the iPad Mini is set to hit the Indian market with pre-orders available from October 15 and shipping starting from October 23.
The A17 Pro chip, which is also found in Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro lineup, brings significant upgrades to the iPad Mini, including a 2x faster Neural Engine for improved AI-driven tasks. The tablet’s AI suite, dubbed Apple Intelligence, focuses on enhancing daily applications such as image recognition, smart document scanning, and real-time language translation.
With an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display, the new iPad Mini offers a sharper and more vibrant viewing experience compared to its predecessor. The device also sports a 12MP ultra-wide front camera and a 12MP wide back camera, both of which support Smart HDR 4 for high-quality photos. The neural engine’s capabilities allow for automatic document identification and shadow removal using the new True Tone flash feature, making the device even more versatile.
The iPad Mini now starts with a minimum of 128GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 512GB, making it more practical for users needing additional space. Available in four colors—blue, purple, starlight, and space grey—the tablet has a sleek design with better performance thanks to its improved CPU and GPU.
Speaking about the new device, Apple CEO Tim Cook emphasized the iPad Mini’s ability to bring advanced AI capabilities to a compact and affordable device. “This new generation of iPad Mini provides users with powerful AI features in a portable size, offering an unmatched blend of performance and mobility,” he said.
The iPad Mini’s combination of compact design and powerful performance is expected to appeal to a wide range of users, from students to professionals seeking a versatile, AI-powered tablet.
