The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has firmly denied recent rumors about alleged paper leaks in the ongoing 2025 Class X and XII board examinations. The board emphasized that these unfounded claims are designed to incite unnecessary anxiety among students and parents.
In an official statement, CBSE highlighted its extensive measures to ensure the examinations proceed smoothly and fairly. The board noted that certain individuals are disseminating false information on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter), falsely alleging access to the 2025 examination papers. CBSE categorically stated that these assertions are baseless and intended to disrupt the examination process.
To combat the spread of misinformation, CBSE is actively collaborating with law enforcement agencies to identify and prosecute those responsible for propagating these rumors. The board warned that students involved in such activities would face strict actions under CBSE’s Unfair Means (UFM) rules and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
CBSE urged parents to counsel their children against engaging with or believing unverified information circulating on social media. The board recommended that all stakeholders rely solely on official updates available on CBSE’s official website and verified public communication channels. This caution aims to prevent the spread of false news during the critical examination period.
The 2025 board examinations commenced on February 15 and are scheduled to continue until April 4. Over 42 lakh students are participating across more than 7,800 centers in India and abroad. This includes approximately 24.12 lakh Class X students appearing in 84 subjects and 17.88 lakh Class XII students taking exams across 120 subjects.
CBSE has implemented stringent protocols to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of the examination process. These measures include secure printing, sealed transportation of question papers, and monitored distribution to examination centers. Additionally, the board has deployed observers and flying squads to oversee the conduct of exams and ensure adherence to all guidelines.
In light of the current situation, CBSE reiterated its commitment to upholding the sanctity of the examination process. The board reassured students that no paper leaks have occurred and that the examinations are being conducted as per the established schedule. CBSE also emphasized that it will take legal action against individuals found guilty of spreading misinformation, thereby safeguarding the interests of the student community.
