Beijing: China has emphasized that the influence and appeal of the BRICS bloc are steadily increasing, as it becomes a key platform for promoting unity and cooperation among countries of the Global South. The growing influence is seen as a reflection of BRICS’s commitment to fostering solidarity across emerging economies and developing nations.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, in response to a question about Russia’s announcement of new BRICS partner countries, stated that BRICS cooperation has reached new heights. She highlighted that the BRICS mechanism now boasts greater representation, following the inclusion of several new partner countries.

The newly added partner nations are Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Uganda.
