Breaking News

CHANDIGARH: Himanshu Kumar, a 23-year-old from Bihar’s Kishanganj district, died after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony in Gurugram on Wednesday. Detained by the Madhya Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad (MPATS) for alleged involvement in a cybercrime linked to terror funding, Kumar reportedly attempted to escape custody by climbing down cables from the balcony but slipped and fell.

The incident occurred around 1:30 PM at a hotel in the Sohna area, where MPATS officers were holding Kumar and five other suspects before presenting them in court. Kumar was taken to Sohna Civil Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A judicial inquiry has been initiated to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.

Local Gurugram police indicated they were not informed in advance about the MPATS operation in their jurisdiction. The remaining suspects are still in custody as the investigation continues.
