LOS ANGELES: Daniel Craig and director Luca Guadagnino are reportedly in talks to helm Sgt. Rock, a film adaptation of the classic DC Comics series. The project is under development at DC Studios, overseen by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Known for its World War II setting, the story follows Sgt. Frank Rock leading his unit through intense battles.

This marks their second collaboration following Queer, a 1940s-set drama where Craig’s performance has been widely lauded. The film, based on William S. Burroughs’ novella, premieres in the U.S. on November 27. Guadagnino’s earlier 2024 release, Challengers, achieved critical acclaim and box office success, solidifying his dynamic storytelling approach.

With Craig’s action-film expertise and Guadagnino’s cinematic vision, Sgt. Rock promises a compelling mix of grit and depth, potentially revitalizing the DC war-action genre.
