The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (DA&FW) has initiated Special Campaign 5.0, as part of the national drive led by the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG). The campaign commenced with a preparatory phase from 16th to 30th September 2025 and moves into its main implementation phase from 2nd to 31st October 2025, targeting both institutional cleanliness and improved administrative efficiency.
Preparatory Phase: Key Achievements
During this phase, DA&FW, led by Secretary Shri Devesh Chaturvedi, mobilized its 28 Divisions, about 200 subordinate and attached offices, PSUs, Autonomous Bodies, and Authorities. They identified a total of 753 cleanliness campaign sites nationwide, prioritized e-waste management, and inventoried pending grievances and official references for resolution.
Key highlights include:
-
Identification of 753 sites for cleanliness campaigns
-
Listing of 1,71,442 pending public grievances and 691 appeals
-
Review of 15,368 physical files and 609 e-files
-
Compilation of 29 pending MP references, 14 Parliamentary assurances, and 4 PMO references
Capacity-Building and Awareness Initiatives
DA&FW employees actively participated in premises cleaning, e-waste segregation, and record review at Krishi Bhawan and other locations. Officials were asked to collect e-waste from home for centralized disposal at office premises. Secretary Chaturvedi discussed campaign initiatives and Swachhata benefits on a DD News programme with the Secretary of DARPG, underlining cross-ministry cooperation.
A special workshop is scheduled for 9th October 2025, in collaboration with DARPG, to sensitize officers regarding public grievances and to showcase creative items made from recycled e-waste.
Commitment to Swachhata and Good Governance
This campaign underscores DA&FW’s commitment to cleanliness, efficient grievance redressal, and improved internal processes. By systematically addressing pending grievances, reviewing files, and managing e-waste, the Department contributes meaningfully to the Prime Minister’s vision of Swachh Bharat and more responsive governance.
