New Delhi: The Department of Food and Public Distribution, Government of India, has successfully launched a nationwide plantation initiative titled “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,” underlining its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Drive Implemented Across Multiple Locations

Employees of the Department came together to plant saplings on 30th September 2025, paying tribute to Mother Earth while reaffirming their dedication to enhancing the country’s green cover. Parallel activities were seen across other key institutions:

  • The Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) conducted the campaign at its Corporate Office in New Delhi on 25th September, with top leadership—including the Managing Director and Director (HR)—actively participating.

  • The National Sugar Institute, Kanpur, joined the mission on 30th September.

  • The Indian Grain Management Research Institute (IGMRI) held plantation events in Ludhiana, Hyderabad, and Hapur on 19th, 30th September, and 1st October respectively.
