Edappadi Palaniswami is once again at the centre of Tamil Nadu’s political spotlight, as fresh developments hint at a major alliance revival. Amit Shah arrived in Madurai late last night via a special flight and started his day with a spiritual visit to the Meenakshi Amman Temple, where he received a traditional welcome from temple officials. Following that, he chaired a high-level BJP core committee meeting, marking the rare presence of all 24 committee members.

Among those in attendance were BJP leaders Arun Singh, Aravind Menon, Sudhakar Reddy, Tamil Nadu BJP President Nainar Nagendran, former president K. Annamalai, Tamilisai Soundararajan, and H. Raja. In this crucial meeting, Amit Shah urged the team to concentrate efforts on 50 strong assembly constituencies where the BJP holds influence  a clear sign of preparations gearing up for the 2026 state elections.Edappadi Palaniswami

Sources suggest that the BJP might negotiate for these 50 seats within the AIADMK-led alliance, with EPS expected to play a critical role in finalising such decisions. Meanwhile, speculation is growing that K. Annamalai might be elevated to a national position within the party soon  potentially as General Secretary or Youth Wing Secretary as part of the BJP’s broader strategy.

The most notable takeaway, however, is the behind-the-scenes push to reintroduce OPS and TTV Dhinakaran into the NDA framework. Amit Shah reportedly told senior members that he believes Edappadi Palaniswami will soon give his consent to bring both leaders back into the alliance  an unexpected twist that could reshape the state’s political future.

Conclusion:
With Amit Shah’s direct involvement and EPS’s potential acceptance, Tamil Nadu’s political landscape could witness a powerful reshuffle, setting the stage for a high-stakes 2026 election.
