Faculty and Course Members of 65th National Defence College Course Proudly Call on the President

The faculty and course members of the 65th National Defence College (NDC) Course met with the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan on October 7, 2025. This distinguished group comprises senior officers from the Indian Armed Forces, civil services, and 32 friendly foreign countries, reflecting a wide international engagement.

National Security and Universal Values

The President emphasized that national interests and objectives are the cornerstone of any nation’s security framework, with universal values forming the core. India’s tradition embraces the concept of universal brotherhood, viewing the world as one family (Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam), prioritizing peace while maintaining readiness against threats to humanity and the nation.

Citing ‘Operation Sindoor’ as an example, the President praised the tri-service synergy and strategic foresight demonstrated during the successful dismantling of terror infrastructure across the Line of Control and deeper border areas. The creation of the Department of Military Affairs, headed by the Chief of Defence Staff, and ongoing efforts to establish Integrated Theatre Commands and Integrated Battle Groups were acknowledged as key to promoting jointness.

The President highlighted the dynamic nature of the geopolitical environment, requiring the Armed Forces to be technologically advanced and combat-ready for multi-domain integrated operations.
