FIA Uncovers Fake Degrees of Two Pakistani Pilots Who Served in PIA for Years

The revelation has raised concerns about the hiring practices within Pakistan's national carrier

Breaking News

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) of Pakistan revealed on Tuesday that two pilots who served with the national carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), did so using fraudulent degrees. The two individuals, Kashan Aijaz Dodhy and Mohsin Ali, were both employed by PIA under false pretenses, having submitted fake educational qualifications.

Kashan Aijaz Dodhy, who joined PIA in 1995, and Mohsin Ali, who became part of the airline in 2006, were initially hired after an audit uncovered that a significant number of PIA employees had obtained their positions by submitting forged degrees. This audit, conducted in 2022, led to a deeper investigation by the FIA.

Upon thorough investigation, the FIA confirmed that both pilots had used counterfeit degrees to secure their positions with the airline. As a result, legal action was initiated against them, and both pilots were booked for their involvement in the fraud.

The revelation has raised concerns about the hiring practices within Pakistan’s national carrier, with authorities vowing to take stricter measures to prevent such incidents in the future. The FIA’s investigation highlights ongoing issues with fraudulent credentials in various sectors and underscores the need for more stringent background checks in key industries such as aviation.

This development follows a growing scrutiny of PIA’s operations and staff, which has faced several challenges related to safety, professionalism, and integrity in recent years.
