FIITJEE Shuts Down Coaching Centres in Delhi, UP, MP, and Bihar: Teachers Quit Over Unpaid Salaries

FIITJEE coaching centres in Delhi, UP, MP, and Bihar have shut down due to teachers quitting over unpaid salaries. The closures have left hundreds of students in distress.

Breaking News

Several FIITJEE coaching centres across Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar have been abruptly shut down, leaving hundreds of students stranded in the midst of their preparations for competitive exams like the IIT-JEE. The closures have been linked to unpaid salaries and mass resignations from teachers, causing a significant disruption in the academic journey of many students.

Why Did FIITJEE Shut Down Its Centres?

The shutdowns have primarily been caused by teachers quitting after months of unpaid salaries. FIITJEE, a renowned coaching institute known for preparing students for the Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE), has faced internal administrative turmoil. Teachers at the affected centres in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar, Noida Sector 62, and several cities in Uttar Pradesh—including Meerut, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, and Varanasi—resigned due to persistent non-payment of salaries.

Officials revealed that initially, the administration attempted to fill the teaching gaps by arranging temporary staff from Noida, but this arrangement lasted only a few days before the centres were forced to close. The Bhopal and Patna centres in Madhya Pradesh and Bihar were also impacted by these staffing issues, resulting in the abrupt shutdown of operations.

Impact on Students and Parental Outrage

The closure of the centres has left students in a critical phase of their preparation without adequate guidance, leading to widespread concern among parents. In Ghaziabad and Noida, parents filed FIRs against FIITJEE, accusing the institute of abruptly halting operations and putting their children’s academic futures in jeopardy. One of the complaints also highlighted that teachers at the Ghaziabad centre had not been paid their salaries for several months, leading to a breakdown in trust between the institution and its staff.

A teacher from the Patna branch revealed that they had not been paid since July 2024 and had resigned in November of the same year. The lack of proper compensation for staff members has exacerbated the situation, affecting the quality of education for students.

FIITJEE’s Financial and Administrative Troubles

The closures of FIITJEE’s centres have raised questions about the institution’s financial health and its ability to manage its operations. In addition to the salary issues, the institute has also faced administrative challenges, including civic action against some of its branches for violating licensing and fire safety rules.

These complications have led to the disruption of services, which directly affects thousands of students who have been preparing for months, if not years, for exams like IIT-JEE.

What’s Next for Affected Students?

With FIITJEE coaching centres closed, students in North India are left in limbo as they continue to prepare for one of the most important exams of their academic careers. The future of the institute’s operations remains uncertain, with parents and students calling for transparency and a resolution to the ongoing issues.

In the wake of these closures, many are left wondering if FIITJEE will take immediate steps to resolve the financial and administrative challenges or if students will be forced to look for alternative coaching options in the middle of their preparations.
