Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia Reviews Financial Performance of Telecom PSUs, Applauds BSNL Turnaround; Sept 2025

New Delhi, 4 September 2025 (Financial Performance) — Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia chaired the quarterly financial review meeting of key telecom Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL), and ITI Limited.

Financial Highlights and Profit Recovery

The review assessed Profit After Tax (PAT), turnover trends, and growth projections. BSNL posted profits for two consecutive quarters, a landmark achievement after 18 years of losses. The company recorded profits of ₹262 crore in Q3 and ₹280 crore in Q4 of FY 2024-25, improving from a loss of ₹849 crore in Q4 of the previous year. This turnaround reduced BSNL’s annual losses by nearly 58%, bringing them to ₹2,247 crore. TCIL witnessed 17% revenue growth and more than doubled its profit, while ITI Limited more than doubled revenue to ₹4323 crore and achieved positive EBITDA in FY 2024-25.

 



 

 

Strategic Focus and Government Support

Shriji Scindia praised BSNL’s financial recovery, emphasizing the government’s commitment to strengthening PSUs and promoting innovation, service excellence, and sustainability. The review follows a recent CGM meeting where strategies for growth and operational efficiency across 32 telecom circles were evaluated.

Future Outlook: Financial Performance

The Minister urged BSNL, TCIL, and ITI to continue innovating and delivering quality services, reinforcing India’s vision under Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a resilient, self-reliant telecom sector ensuring connectivity in every corner of the country.
