NOIDA: The first validation test flight for the much-awaited Noida International Airport was successfully completed on Monday, according to official reports. This marks an important step in the construction of the greenfield airport in Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh.
The Noida International Airport is expected to strengthen connectivity across the National Capital Region (NCR) as it will serve as the second international airport after Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. Located approximately 75 kilometers from Delhi, the new airport will act as a major transportation hub for both domestic and international travel.
Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of Swiss-based Zurich International Airport AG, is spearheading the construction under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. This airport is anticipated to boost trade, tourism, and connectivity in the region while easing air travel demand in the NCR.
The first successful validation flight represents a significant achievement in the development timeline. Officials have expressed optimism about the completion of further construction phases, aiming to make Noida International Airport operational in the coming years.
As preparations and milestones progress, this state-of-the-art airport will undoubtedly transform the transportation landscape in northern India.
