Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has lauded the Union Budget 2025-26, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as a “citizen-first” initiative that addresses the aspirations of millions, particularly the poor and middle class. He emphasized that the budget provides substantial tax relief, with no tax imposed on annual incomes up to ₹12 lakh, benefiting countless employed and middle-class individuals across the nation.
“By not imposing any tax on annual income up to ₹12 lakh, the central government has dedicated its income of ₹1 lakh crore to the employed and middle-class people. This decision under the guidance of the prime minister is a big gift for the common citizens,” Patel stated.
The budget focuses on four key pillars—agriculture, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), investment, and export—to further stimulate growth for the poor, youth, farmers, and women. Patel highlighted that this approach aligns with the vision of a developed India by 2047, reflecting the government’s commitment to inclusive progress.
Additionally, the budget introduces measures to boost farm output, with specific missions for pulses and cotton, and establishes a National Manufacturing Mission. These initiatives aim to enhance productivity and support the agricultural sector, contributing to the overall economic development of the country.
The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister for delivering a comprehensive budget that promises to benefit all sections of society, reinforcing the nation’s resolve to become self-reliant and achieve the status of the world’s third-largest economy.
