Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, dismissed Musk’s claims, inviting him to visit the first Stargate site in Texas, which is already under construction. “Musk is wrong, as he surely knows,” Altman said.
Satya Nadella’s $80 Billion Remark
When asked about the Musk-Altman spat during a CNBC interview, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella shared his perspective on the project. While he admitted not knowing the finer details of Stargate’s investment, Nadella quipped, “All I know is, I’m good for my $80 billion.”
Musk reacted to Nadella’s comment, acknowledging the Microsoft chief’s financial clout: “On the other hand, Satya definitely does have the money.”
In response, Nadella shifted the conversation toward the project’s larger purpose, emphasizing real-world applications of AI:
“And all this money is not about hyping AI, but about building useful things for the real world.”
