Indian Army Contingent Proudly Departs for India–US Joint Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2025

New Delhi: An Indian Army contingent has departed for Fort Wainwright, Alaska, USA, to participate in the 21st edition of the India-USA Joint Military Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2025, scheduled from 1st to 14th September 2025. The contingent includes personnel from a battalion of the Madras Regiment, training alongside soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment “Bobcats” of the Arctic Wolves Brigade Combat Team, 11th Airborne Division of the USA.


Comprehensive Tactical Training

Over the course of two weeks, troops will engage in diverse tactical drills encompassing heliborne operations, use of surveillance assets and unmanned aerial systems (UAS), rock craft, mountain warfare, casualty evacuation, combat medical aid, and the integrated deployment of artillery, aviation, and electronic warfare assets.




Specialized Working Groups

Subject-matter experts from both nations will conduct focused working groups on critical operational domains including UAS and Counter-UAS tactics, information warfare, communications, and logistics, enhancing cooperative expertise and interoperability.


Culmination and Strategic Focus of Indian Army

The exercise will culminate with joint tactical maneuvers, ranging from live-fire drills to high-altitude warfare scenarios. Emphasis will be placed on enhancing capabilities for United Nations peacekeeping missions and preparedness for multi-domain operational challenges.
