IndiGo Faces Passenger Outrage After Flight Delays in Istanbul

Hundreds stranded at Istanbul Airport for over 24 hours amid poor communication and lack of support.

Breaking News

NEW DELHI: IndiGo Airlines is facing backlash after over 400 passengers were left stranded at Istanbul Airport due to significant delays in flights bound for Delhi and Mumbai. Passengers reported delays extending up to 17 hours, compounded by inadequate support, including no food or accommodation.

The issues began with delays in the Istanbul-to-Delhi flight, initially scheduled for December 12 at 8:10 PM but postponed multiple times, leaving travelers frustrated and stranded overnight. Similarly, passengers bound for Mumbai faced extended delays with limited communication.

Affected travelers took to social media to highlight the ordeal, describing poor assistance from IndiGo’s staff and overcrowded lounges. The airline issued an apology, citing unforeseen technical issues, and arranged alternative flights.

These events have raised concerns about IndiGo’s service quality, further emphasized by its low ranking in the 2024 AirHelp Score report, where it was rated among the world’s worst airlines.
