New Delhi (Indo-UAE ): Maj Gen Yousef Maayouf Saeed Al Hallami, Commander of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Land Forces, is on an official visit to India from 27-28 October 2025, aiming to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation and explore new areas in training and capability enhancement.
High-Level Military Engagement
The visit began with a ceremonial welcome in New Delhi, reflecting mutual respect and strategic intent between the two armed forces. Maj Gen Al Hallami was extensively briefed on the Indian military’s recent successes including Operation Sindoor, India’s Artificial Intelligence roadmap for defence, and the Army’s indigenous technology capabilities.
Operational Briefings and Technology Exchanges
Detailed presentations from the DG Information Systems and Army Design Bureau showcased India’s capabilities, with specific focus on technology, defence platforms, and operational insights. Maj Gen Al Hallami is scheduled to lay a wreath at the National War Memorial as a mark of respect to India’s fallen soldiers. The itinerary includes a visit to DRDO for in-depth briefings on indigenous weapon systems, and interactions with Dr Samir V Kamat, Secretary of Defence R&D, and representatives of the Indian defence industry to discuss potential collaborations and joint projects.
