New Delhi: INS Tamal, the Indian Navy’s newest stealth frigate, has concluded a highly successful port visit to Casablanca, Morocco, from 6–9 August 2025, marking a key milestone in India’s ongoing efforts to deepen maritime and defence cooperation with Morocco. Commissioned in Russia just last month (1 July 2025), INS Tamal is currently transiting back to India, making important diplomatic stops at select European and Asian ports along the way.
This visit continues a recent trend—INS Tamal is the third Indian Navy ship to call at Casablanca in the past two years—highlighting the growing significance of the Indo-Moroccan maritime partnership.

High-level discussions were held with senior Moroccan naval officials, including Captain Rachid Sadrhazi (Commander of the 1st Naval Base), Captain-Major Hasan Akouli (Commander of the Central Maritime Sector), Brigadier General Jamal Kaztouf (Delegated Commander of Weapons, Casablanca Area), and Rear Admiral Mohamed Tahin (Inspector of the Royal Moroccan Navy).
