Simran Singh, a 25-year-old Instagram influencer and freelance radio jockey, was found dead in her apartment in Sector 47, Gurugram, on Thursday. The police suspect her death to be a case of suicide. Her body has been handed over to her family for final rites.
Simran, originally from Jammu and Kashmir, had a substantial social media presence, with nearly 700,000 followers on Instagram. Her last post was made on December 13. She was affectionately known as “Jammu Ki Dhadkan” (Heartbeat of Jammu) by her fans, a title reflecting her popularity and connection with her audience.
A friend who had been staying with Simran alerted the authorities after discovering her body. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, though no foul play is suspected at this stage.

Both Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) leader Farooq Abdullah and J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed their deep condolences, praising Simran for her vibrant personality and her contribution to the cultural landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
