In a tragic incident in Kerala, a 36-year-old Thunderbolt commando, Vineeth, reportedly took his own life by shooting himself in the bathroom of his quarters in Malappuram district. The police found his body on Sunday, and it has since been moved to a government hospital for post-mortem and inquest procedures.
Vineeth, a native of Wayanad district, was serving in the Special Operation Group (SOG) of the Thunderbolt force, which is involved in anti-Maoist operations. According to initial reports, Vineeth had been upset over his repeated requests for leave being denied. However, police have not yet confirmed this as the cause of the extreme step.
Authorities have initiated an investigation to ascertain the reason behind his suicide. In the meantime, suicide prevention helplines like Sumaitri (011-23389090) and Sneha Foundation (044-24640050) continue to offer support for those in need.
