New Dates to Be Announced After Weather Assessment

Breaking News

GULMARG: The second phase of the 5th Khelo India Winter Games, initially slated to commence in Gulmarg on February 17th, 2025, has been postponed due to inadequate snowfall in the region. The event, organized by the Sports Authority of India in collaboration with local authorities, was set to feature snow sports such as alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, ski mountaineering, and snowboarding.

A source from the sports ministry confirmed the postponement, stating, “The Jammu and Kashmir leg of the Khelo India Winter Games has been postponed.” New dates will be announced following a comprehensive weather assessment and improvement in conditions.

The first phase of the Games successfully took place in Leh, Ladakh, from January 23 to 27, 2025, hosting ice events like hockey and skating. The postponement of the Gulmarg events underscores the challenges posed by unpredictable weather patterns on winter sports.

Participants and stakeholders are advised to stay updated through official channels for announcements regarding the rescheduled dates.
