Kia India has officially unveiled its highly anticipated Syros compact premium SUV in New Delhi, marking its global debut. The company announced that bookings for the Syros will open in February 2025, expecting strong demand in the competitive Indian automotive market.
The Syros comes equipped with cutting-edge features, including Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) Level 2 technology, along with 20 safety features as standard, ensuring a safer driving experience. For premium audio, the SUV offers a Harman Kardon speaker system, providing exceptional sound quality for an enhanced in-car experience.
Hardeep Singh Brar, Senior Vice President and Head of Sales at Kia India, shared that the unveiling marked the global debut of the Syros, and the company was eager to gather customer feedback to determine its expected pricing. Kia plans to announce the price by the end of January or early February 2025.
Currently holding a 15% market share in the compact and mid-SUV segments, Kia India aims to boost its share to 20% with the launch of the Syros, further cementing its position in the Indian market.
The name “Syros” is inspired by the picturesque Greek island, symbolizing the SUV’s blend of elegance and sophistication.
In line with its expansion plans, Kia also revealed that it added 200 new touchpoints across 2024, increasing its reach to over 700 locations across 300 cities in India.
The Syros will be available with two engine options: a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine producing 120PS and 172Nm of torque, and a 1.5-liter CRDi diesel engine delivering 116PS and 250Nm of torque. Both engines are offered with manual and automatic transmission options, with the SUV featuring a 2550mm wheelbase.
