New Delhi: In a significant relief for commercial establishments, the oil marketing companies (OMCs) have announced a reduction in the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders. Effective from Friday, August 1, 2025, the price of the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been revised downward by ₹33.50.
New Commercial Rates:
According to the revised pricing structure:
-
In Delhi, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder will now be ₹1,631.50, down from ₹1,665.
-
In Kolkata, the earlier rate was ₹1,769, while in Mumbai, it stood at ₹1,616.50 in July 2025.
The new rate will provide a significant cost advantage to commercial users and is expected to improve margins or allow businesses to pass on the savings to consumers in the form of reduced prices.
No Change in Domestic LPG Prices
While commercial rates have seen a decline, there has been no change in domestic LPG prices. The price of the standard 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged, providing continued price stability for households. Domestic LPG prices were last revised on April 8, 2025, and have remained consistent since then.
Impact on the Market
The move is expected to offer considerable financial relief to small businesses, restaurants, and street vendors who use commercial cylinders. Experts believe this price cut could:
-
Lower overall operational expenses for food and hospitality industries.
-
Encourage price competitiveness in the service sector.
-
Ease cost pressures for businesses affected by inflation and fuel cost fluctuations.
Broader Economic Context
With global energy prices stabilizing and domestic fuel supply chains improving, this revision aligns with broader government efforts to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and maintain manageable inflation levels in consumer markets.
The pricing policy of OMCs is typically reviewed monthly based on international benchmark rates and foreign exchange fluctuations. The current revision reflects an easing of input costs and is seen as a positive sign for economic activity.
