Lieutenant General Avinash Das, a highly respected ENT surgeon with nearly four decades of service in the Armed Forces Medical Services, has been appointed as the Commandant of the Army Hospital Research & Referral (R&R), New Delhi, effective November 1, 2025.
Distinguished Career and Leadership
An alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, Lt Gen Das brings exceptional clinical expertise and broad leadership experience, having held senior advisory roles at major military hospitals including Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt, and Command Hospital, Lucknow. He has been honored with the COAS, CISC, and GOC-in-C commendation cards for his exemplary service.

He was pivotal as Commandant, Command Hospital (Northern Command), facilitating the move from Udhampur to a new state-of-the-art hospital building.
