Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole has expressed his willingness to resign from his post following the party’s poor performance in the recent state assembly elections. However, Patole has left the final decision on his resignation up to the party’s high command.

Patole made this announcement while speaking to reporters at the Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai, stating that the party would elect a new group leader for the state legislature later that day. He clarified that discussions regarding his resignation and the leadership of the state Congress unit would also take place during this time.

Despite earlier reports claiming that Patole had formally requested to be relieved of his duties, the Congress leader had previously denied resigning, stating that rumors were being spread about the matter. He emphasized that his offer to step down was made voluntarily, and the central leadership would have the final say.
