Talk about making an entrance! Samarth Mahangade, a B.Com student from Pasarani village in Maharashtra, has become an internet sensation after paragliding to his exam center to avoid getting stuck in traffic.
With only 15-20 minutes left before the exam, he took to the skies, college bag in tow, to reach his destination on time.
A Unique Solution to a Common Problem
Samarth was in Panchgani running errands on the day of his exam when he realized time was running out.
Knowing the heavy traffic on the Wai-Panchgani road, especially in the Pasarani Ghat section, would make him late, he needed a creative solution.
Adventure Sports to the Rescue
Govind Yewale, an adventure sports expert from GP Adventures in Panchgani, provided the answer Yewale and his team quickly arranged for Samarth to paraglide over the traffic, ensuring he reached his college before the exam began.
He landed safely near his college, ready to ace his test.
Internet Sensation
A video of Samarth soaring through the sky with his college bag has gone viral on social media.
The clip showcases his daring move and has garnered praise for his quick thinking and determination.
Paragliding Safety Concerns
While Samarth’s story is inspiring, it’s important to note that paragliding accidents are on the rise in India
Last month, a tourist died and a pilot was injured in a paragliding accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu.
In January 2023, a similar accident in North Goa resulted in the deaths of both a tourist and a pilot. These incidents underscore the need for strict safety regulations and adherence to guidelines when engaging in adventure sports.
Stay Safe
Those who are interesting in paragliding should always confirm that their paragliding company complies with safety precautions.
