‘Mai Nahi Rokta Garden Mei Ghoomne Se’: Suryakumar Yadav Praises Rohit Sharma’s Stump Mic Antics

Suryakumar Yadav praises Rohit Sharma's iconic stump mic moments, ensuring he stays away from the stumps to let Rohit remain the king of cricket banter.

Breaking News

Team India T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav has made it clear that he has no plans to challenge Rohit Sharma’s famous stump mic moments, which have often gone viral. Rohit, known for his witty and unfiltered comments during matches, remains the undisputed king of stump mic entertainment, even as Suryakumar leads the Indian team in T20Is after Rohit’s retirement from the format following India’s 2024 T20 World Cup victory.

Suryakumar humorously addressed this on Star Sports, saying, “Try karta hoon door rahoon stumps se. Agar kisi ka woh specialty hai toh woh unhe ke saath rahe toh zyada better hai.” (I try to stay away from the stumps. If it’s someone’s specialty, it’s better that it stays with them).

Rohit Sharma’s Garden Antics

Rohit’s hilarious one-liners, including the famous “Mai nahi rokta garden mei ghoomne se” (I don’t stop anyone from roaming in the garden), have become iconic over the years. Suryakumar referenced this, adding, “Haan woh jab hum ghumte rehte hai garden mai, woh sunne ko mil hi jata hai.” (Yes, when we roam in the garden, we get to hear those things).

Surya also jokingly remarked that he doesn’t stop his teammates from “roaming in the garden,” stating, “Nahi, mai nahi rokta hu kisi ko kyuki koi ghumta hi nahi hai.” (No, I don’t stop anyone because no one roams around).

Leading the Indian Team in a New Era

Since taking over as the T20I skipper, Suryakumar Yadav has seamlessly transitioned into his leadership role. Under his captaincy, the Indian team has thrived, with young talents like Tilak Varma and Nitish Kumar Reddy making their mark, alongside seasoned players such as Sanju Samson, Rinku Singh, and Hardik Pandya.

Talking about his experience, Surya stated, “Both are fun. It’s just an added responsibility. I am doing the same thing that I was doing earlier as well. It’s just that something has been added in the bracket now. Nothing much has changed. Fun is there.”

A Blend of Youth and Experience

The new-look Indian T20I squad reflects a perfect balance of youth and experience, infusing fresh energy into the team. Suryakumar’s calm demeanor and Rohit’s occasional presence in ODIs have ensured a smooth transition for Indian cricket as it moves into a new era.

For fans of cricket and stump mic banter, Rohit Sharma’s antics remain unmatched, and Suryakumar seems content to let his senior teammate keep that spotlight.
