MUMBAI: In a shocking revelation, police have uncovered the movements of Shiv Kumar Gautam, the main shooter in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, after the crime. Investigators from the Mumbai Crime Branch and the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force arrested Gautam on November 10 in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh. He has since provided key details about his actions following the murder.

According to the police, after carrying out the assassination in Bandra East, Gautam initially fled the scene. He quickly changed his clothes, stashed his old shirt and the murder weapon in a bag, and disposed of the bag under an abandoned car, just 250 meters from the crime scene.

After waiting roughly 10 minutes, Gautam returned to find police had arrived and Baba Siddique had been rushed to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra West. He then proceeded to the hospital to confirm Siddique’s death, staying there briefly for updates.

Upon confirming the politician’s death, Gautam left the hospital and traveled to multiple locations. He first made his way to Kurla railway station, then to Thane, and later to Pune, before heading toward Uttar Pradesh. During his journey, he destroyed his phone to avoid tracking and purchased a new one in Lucknow. Seeking further refuge, he reached a safe house in Bahraich, where authorities ultimately apprehended him.

Investigators have also uncovered connections to a larger criminal network tied to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Gautam, a close associate of Lonkar, frequently contacted Anmol Bishnoi as they planned crimes, including targeting a Pune politician and Aftab Poonawala.

The investigation reveals the disturbing scope of the gang’s criminal activities and their radical motivations. Lonkar, unsuccessful in his 2018 army attempt, became radicalized by Lawrence Bishnoi, forming a violent group to target “rapists.”
