A fierce wildfire ravaging Los Angeles has claimed five lives, destroyed thousands of homes, and prompted the evacuation of tens of thousands of residents, including several high-profile figures from Hollywood. The wildfires, which began on Tuesday, have burned through some of the city’s most upscale neighborhoods, including Pacific Palisades, Pasadena, and Altadena, areas known for housing celebrity residences.
By Wednesday, firefighters were battling multiple blazes, with three major fires raging in the region. The fires have forced President Biden to cancel his planned final foreign trip in response to the emergency.
