MadhyaPradesh: In Indore, job seekers have taken to the streets after the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board’s Van and Jail Recruitment Test 2023 results revealed a candidate scoring 101.66 marks out of 100.This anomaly is attributed to the ‘normalisation’ process employed to adjust for varying difficulty levels across different exam sessions.
The board, headquartered in Bhopal, announced the results on December 13, clarifying that the normalisation process can lead to scores exceeding the maximum marks or even falling below zero.Despite this explanation, candidates remain unconvinced, alleging irregularities in the recruitment process.
On Monday, a group of unemployed youths gathered outside the district collector’s office in Indore, submitting a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Protest leader Gopal Prajapat expressed dissatisfaction, stating, “This is the first time in the state’s history that a candidate has scored more than the total marks due to the normalisation process adopted in the recruitment exam. We are protesting against the unfair process of normalisation.”
The examination was conducted for positions such as forest guard, field guard (executive), and jail guard (executive). Protesters are demanding a comprehensive investigation into the recruitment process to ensure fairness and transparency. They have warned of escalating their agitation if authorities fail to address their concerns promptly.
The controversy has put pressure on officials to resolve the matter and restore faith in the recruitment system, as job seekers insist on transparency and a fair inquiry into the examination process.
