NEET UG 2025 to Follow Pre-COVID Pattern: Key Changes for Candidates

NEET UG 2025 reverts to pre-COVID pattern with reduced questions and no optional sections. Learn about the changes, syllabus, and exam mode here.

Breaking News

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) will return to its pre-COVID exam pattern starting from 2025. This decision brings two major changes that candidates should be aware of.

Key Changes in NEET UG 2025

  1. Reduction in Questions and Time Limit
The optional questions introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic will no longer be available. NEET UG 2025 will consist of:

    • 45 questions each in Physics and Chemistry
    • 90 questions in Biology (Botany + Zoology)

Candidates will have 180 minutes to complete the paper, with no additional time for optional sections.

  2. Exam Format Adjustments
The COVID-era pattern included sections A and B for each subject, where Section B allowed candidates to attempt a limited number of questions with extra time. This provision has been discontinued, and candidates must now attempt all questions in a single, standard format.

Exam Details

  • Mode of Examination: Offline (pen-and-paper-based)
  • Format: Single-day, single-shift exam using OMR sheets
  • Syllabus and Structure: The paper will adhere to the standard pre-COVID NEET UG format, focusing on Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

What This Means for Candidates

Candidates preparing for NEET UG 2025 should adjust their strategies to account for the reduced number of questions and shorter time limits. Time management and in-depth understanding of concepts will be crucial for success.

Exam Updates

The exact exam date, detailed information bulletin, and application schedule will be announced soon on the official website (neet.nta.nic.in).
